Engineering Classes For First-Year To Commence From Dec 1: AICTE

The Indian regulatory body All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) issued a notification over the calendar for the academic session(2020-21) that has been revised.

The notification said the classed for the first-year engineering students will commence from the 1st of December. The last date of enrolling in the technical universities has been extended till November end.

Earlier, the last date to enroll in the technical universities was October 20, going by the prevailing situations, AICTE extended the last date to seek admissions till the 30th of November.

Based on the Covid-19 protocols, classes for the newly admitted engineering students will be held in three modes like online, offline, or blended mode.

The regulatory body has also directed the institutions that have started the classes to postpone the classes and follow the given timetable. Special classes will be held for students who will sit for the final-year or final-semester.

To see that the students get compensated for the academic year loss, the classes will be held six days a week and the winter holidays period and summer holiday period will be cut short.
