All set for Censor Board revamp

Update: 2015-12-29 04:12 GMT
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is heading towards a complete revamp with Finance Minister Arun Jaitley who is also serving as Information & Broadcasting Minister hinting that he wishes to see the board 'controversy-free'.

Mr.Jaitley informed that he already began sharing his views with experts and seeking their opinion for a makeover of Censor Board. 'I want CBFC controversy-free,' he asserts.

Ever since Pahlaj Nihalani took charge as CBFC Chief, The Board has been under criticism for reasons like introducing a list saying those particular words won't be allowed in films and the sanskari James Bond row over chopping lip lock scene in 'Spectre'.

To avoid controversies, Information & Broadcasting Ministry decided to refrain from suggesting cuts to makers during the censor screening and the board will only provide certification. If a Producer seeks U or U/A for a film with adult content, He/She will have to approach Censor Board again after making cuts of their own choice.
