Vijayawada Metro Rail Project gained pace with the section of Rs 300 crore by Government for taking up Land Acquisition. Revenue Department began the identification of the boundaries for the project. After the peg markings in the necessary locations, Owners of the land to be acquired will be called for a meeting for compensation. The land acquisition notification will be issued by September end.
Amaravati Metro Rail Corporation (AMRC) decided that nearly 22 cents (1,064 sq yards) of land was required on either sides of the road in 13 different place along the 13.27 km stretch between PNBS and Nidamanuru. About 12 metro stations will be set up between PNBS-Penamaluru corridor which covers a distance of 12.76 km.
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is providing Technical Assistance to Vijayawada Metro Rail. Works of Vijayawada Metro Rail second corridor will begin by December this year. The aim is to complete it by December 2018.
