Amazon Chief files a lawsuit to seek an amount of $1.7 million from his girlfriend's brother!
American internet entrepreneur, industrialist, and Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of Amazon.com, Inc, Jeff Bezos has knocked on the doors of the Los Angeles County Superior Court to file a motion petition on Friday.
The world's second-richest person moved the court to sue his girlfriend's brother, Michael Sanchez for an amount of over $1.7 million, to cover the legal fees he incurred with a defamation suit.
The fallout between Jeff Bezos and Sanchez reached a peak point after the latter filed a defamation suit against Bezos and his personal security chief, Gavin de Becker in February 2020.
In the lawsuit, Michael Sanchez alleged that Bezos and Gavin de Becker tried to defame him in the issue of leaked pictures of Bezos. Michael claimed that the duo told the journalists that he is behind the leaked pictures.
However, Jeff Bezos got a sigh of relief after the Court dismissed the lawsuit, saying that there is no proper evidence to prove the allegations.
In the fresh lawsuit, the Amazon chief and his security chief sought directives from the court to reimburse the amount he spent in defending the lawsuit filed by Sanchez. The duo sought $1,676,919.50 and $36,019.26 for attorney fees and other costs respectively
The Counsel representing the Amazon chief backed the lawsuit and claimed that his client has not asked for any higher amount and the amount he sought is reasonable. He said the full amount should be granted.
