It is known that Andhra Pradesh Government issued Land Acquisition notifications in few Mandals of the proposed new capital to acquire the lands from farmers who are reluctant to take part in the Land Pooling. Jana Sena chief Pawan Kayan's tour in AP Capital region and his hard-hitting remarks made the State Government halt Land Acquisition at least for now. The protests launched by YSR Congress, Left Parties and Congress along with farmers too served the cause to some extent.
As Assembly sessions are scheduled to start from August 31st, Few AP Ministers have conveyed to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu that they can't face the Opposition if Land Acquisition was taken up at this juncture. Finally, CMO has directed Collectors to temporarily stop the Land Acquisition in villages of new capital.
Minister Narayana, on the other hand, conveys that Chandrababu Naidu was against Land Acquisition right from the beginning but the current situation has forced the State Government to issue the notification. He also gave assurance that even the rest of the land will be acquired based on Land Pooling itself.
