The much-awaited monsoon session of the AP Assembly started today. The sessions were started on a high note with the opposition Telugu Desam Party making sensational claims that YSRCP Minister made objectionable comments towards an MLA. The ruling party hit back and said there is no truth in the claims. The Assembly house saw some intense scenes.
TDP MLA Dola Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy alleged that Minister Merugu Nagarjuna made objectionable comments about his community and birth. The opposition party demanded his resignation and sought the records to be made public and play the videos of the Minister's comments.
The opposition party members demanded the Speaker to play the videos of the Minister and the Speaker is said to have said no and told them that he will look into the matter and take the required action and measures in the issue.
Earlier, Speaker Tammineni banned the use of phones and recording videos inside the houses. For the same reason, Tammineni might have rejected the proposal to play the videos of Merugu Nagarjuna's commentsvidoes of Merugu Nagarjuna's comments.
Reports say that the MLA alleged that Nagarjuna told him to come out of Chandrababu Naidu's influence if he is truly a Dailt. The TDP MLA is taking a strong objection to the comments made by the Minister and demanded his suspension and making his records public.
TDP Mla Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy asked how the sessions can be held when the Speaker cannot control the comments directed at the birth of the member of the house.
SC ST atrocity is a strong case and calling a Dalit person by his caste identity is a big offense. If gets proven, guilty will have to face serious punishment. Now the question is did the YCP Minister make such objectionable comments? Minister Nagarjuna said he did not make any comments.
The second point here is the TDP will not be able to prove the comments made by the Minister until the Speaker says yes to making the records public. If TDP leaders make the records public without official permission, then it falls under the violation and they may have to face the consequences.
