A 20-year-old girl student who is studying final year B.Sc in a private college has been taken into custody by Cyber Crime Investigation Cell (CCIC) police on Thursday for allegedly creating a fake Facebook account of another girl student of the same college and posting her photos along with phone number and objectionable comments.
CCIC Inspector shares the accused has been nursing a grudge against another final year student over a petty issue and used to quarrel with her frequently. To take revenge, she dared to defame the other girl but hardly expected it would land her in trouble in the end.
Up on finding the fake account, The victim lodged a complaint with IV town police station two months ago and the case has been transferred to CCIC. Finally, CCIC police have found the accused and immediately taken her into custody. The girl was booked under sections 66(A), 66(C) of IT Act of 2000, 2008. Mobile Phone, SIM Cards and Tablet PC belonging to her have been seized.
