Having received a setback the other day over the movie ticket issue, the Andhra Pradesh government had challenged the verdict of the Single judge bench by filing a lunch motion petition on Wednesday. Challenging the verdict, the state government had moved the Division Bench of the High Court.
However, the High Court had adjourned the hearing to Thursday as the copy of the verdict given by the single bench did not reach the court on time. Due to the delay in this, the division bench had reportedly decided to postpone the hearing in the case for tomorrow.
As the hearing was postponed to the next day, the Andhra Pradesh government is reportedly gearing up to inspect all the theatres in the state and prepare a report on the ticket rates in various theatres.
The GO 35 which was issued by the Andhra Pradesh government to reduce the ticket prices and show count was challenged in the High Court the other day by the distributors, theatre owners. Hearing the petition, the Single Bench had canceled the Government Order. We have to wait and see what happens next in the issue.
