AP Surpassed Karnataka In Terms Of Pandemic Infections

Update: 2020-07-25 15:03 GMT
Andhra Pradesh, which straightaway reported over 7,000 infections of the contagious disease for three consecutive days made another record by turning out as the fourth worst-affected state in the country.

AP overtook Karnataka to emerge as the fourth-worst affected state in India after Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and national capital Delhi. Karnataka currently has 85,870 infections.

On the other hand, Andhra Pradesh reported 7,813 fresh infections in the last 24 hours and the total cases of the disease zoomed to 88,671. If the fresh cases continue to surge at the same phase in no time, the cases will mount to 1 lakh-mark.

The increase in the fatalities in connection with the virus is also ringing danger bells in the state as the total fatalities reached 985. Since the last week, fatalities are increasing on a daily basis.

The low-level recovery rate of the ongoing pandemic is an area of concern. The recovery rate in the state is very low when compared to the recovery rate in the country. India's recovery rate stood at over 63%, while AP has a recovery rate of below 50%.
