Apollo Doctors has at last clarified all the doubts regarding the health condition and demise of former Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalithaa during a press conference held Today.
British expert Dr. Richard John Beale who treated Ex-CM admits not being sure of the source of infection initially but found out that it's was in her blood finally. 'When she was brought to the hospital for fever and dehydration, Jayalalithaa was in a conscious state and responded to the treatment. She faced breathing issues while at home and when she was brought in the ambulance to the hospital. She was admitted to hospital with Sepsis. Bacteria grown in her blood resulted in the deterioration of her health and damaged other organs. For one week, She was speaking normally and consuming food. But, Her condition worsened later and she could only communicate by signs. Diabetes and BP made the infection severe. She was on and off ventilator during her stay, even showed signs of improvement,' he told.
Apollo Doctors confirmed Jayalalithaa was conscious when she signed EC Papers for by-polls in three Assembly Constituencies. Amma used thump impression as she was took weak to sign on the papers then.
When quizzed about maintaining secrecy, Dr. Richard Beale reminded media that taking photographs of a patient and publishing them comes under intrusion of privacy. He makes it clear there was no conspiracy what-so-ever behind the death of Jayalalithaa. He termed the queries related to exhuming of Jayalalithaa's body as ridiculous. 'No amputation, No Transplantation. Those marks on cheeks are normal for critically-ill patients,' he said.
Apollo Management informed only people whom Jayalalithaa wished to meet were allowed into her room. They say, Sasikala and Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary were informed about her health condition regularly.
Jayalalithaa suffered cardiac arrest at 5 PM and a Medical Professional witnessed it. While CRP continued for 5 minutes, She was put on ECMO and waited to see if she could recover for 24 hours. Doctors discussed about shifting Jayalalithaa to London but they dropped the idea due to high risk factor. Even Jaya doesn't want to be shifted to London.
