The crackdown on the social media activists who made objectionable comments against the Judiciary and the judges continues. Fresh arrests were made by the central agency Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the issue. Six people were arrested by the investigation officers.
After gathering information that the accused had made derogatory posts against judges and the judiciary, six people were arrested by the CBI from Andhra Pradesh. The arrested people were believed to have made the posts on social media.
The arrests of social media activists have been going on after the Andhra Pradesh High Court ordered the same. Earlier, the Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department (CID) used to probe the matter.
However, not satisfied with the progress in the issue, the High Court had transferred the case to CBI. Since then, there has been good development in the issue, and arrests were made at regular intervals.
