TDP Senior Leader Atchannaidu is in trouble with the order passed by the High Court regarding his election as Tekkali MLA in 2019 Elections.
YCP Candidate Perada Tilak who had unsuccessfully contested from Tekkali moved a petition in the High Court accusing Atchannaidu of emerging victorious in an unlawful manner. High Court hadn't only accepted the petition but also served notices to the TDP Legislator. He was directed to respond on the petition by October 17th.
On July 21st, 2017, A Criminal Case was booked against Atchannaidu at Hirehal in Anantapur District. Atchannaidu was accused of not mentioning the criminal case filed against him in the election affidavit. YCP Candidate is now seeking disqualification of Atchannaidu based on this evidence. High Court had even served notices to the candidates of Congress, BJP, Jana Sena and Forward Block and Returning Officer of Tekkali Constituency.
Atchannaidu secured 87,658 votes (49.64%) in 2019 Assembly Polls contesting from Tekkali. YCP's Perada Tilak managed to get 79,113 votes (44.80%). Shockingly, Jana Sena (2,806) received less number of votes than NOTA (2,935) here.
