Ayyanna, Ganta in race to promote sons in politics

Update: 2022-04-30 06:09 GMT
The opposition TDP is all set to witness competition between the children and heirs of the senior leaders. In the party, there is a competition among the seniors to introduce their wards or children to politics.  But, the catch is that even the seniors too want to be in the fray. So, major political families in the TDP could be asking for more than two seats for their family.

There is intense rivalry among a few TDP seniors of North Andhra. Now, there is every likelihood that the rivalry would be passed on to their wards. Take for instance, senior TDP leaders Ch Ayyanna Patrudu and Ganta Srinivasa Rao. Both the former ministers are arch rivals. Ayyanna is already promoting his son Vijay Patrudu. Vijay is already a general secretary of the party and could possibly fight from Anakapalli Lok Sabha seat. In addition, Ayyanna himself would contest from Narsipatnam assembly constituency.

Ditto with Ganta. He is now planning to secure a ticket for his son Ganta Raviteja, who could contest from Chodavaram. Ganta himself would contest from Bheemili.  Vijay Patrudu is already considered close to Nara Lokesh, while Raviteja is trying to get close to Lokesh by organising a birthday celebration in the constituency soon.

It may be recalled that Chandrababu Naidu has recently said that he would give 40 per cent tickets to young leaders.  It now appears that most of the seats under this quota would be grabbed by the VIP sons and daughters. But from what appears to be happening, the whole attempt could reduce the TDP to an enterprise of the families.
