A few days ago, the authorities suddenly demolished the compound wall of senior TDP leader and former minister Ayyanna Patrudu's Narsipatnam residence. The TDP rank and file protested this and descended onto Narsipatnam to raise their voice. Everyone, starting from Nara Lokesh to Chandrababu Naidu, raised their voice.
But, there was one voice that remained mute. There was no comment whatsoever from Kapu strongman and former minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao Ganta did not make any statement condemning the demolition. He maintained a studious silence on the issue. Sources say Ganta remained silent in view of the frosty relations between the two leaders.
Ayyanna has always opposed Ganta. He opposed Ganta's re-entry into the TDP and likened Ganta to earthworms. He said such leaders have no use for the TDP and that they would give importance to themselves and not to the party ideology. Sources say that this has rankled Ganta and hence he did not even bother to condemn the demolition of the wall.
Ganta is now said to be inching closer to Chandrababu Naidu and reports say that he has accomplished some special tasks that Chandrababu Naidu has given him. However, despite all this, his antipathy to Ayyanna appears to be continuing. Sources say that the TDP would be a formidable force in North Andhra only if four top leaders - Kala Venkat Rao, Atchen Naidu, Ayyanna and Ganta come together and work in tandem. Will that happen? Let's wait and see!!
