Since the bifurcation of United AP, Nandamuri Balakrishna kept saying he would establish Basavatharakam Cancer Hospital in Seemandhra as well. At one point, He declared the hospital will be coming up in his Hindupur constituency. There were also speculations that Nallapadu in Guntur district will be ideal location for the cancer hospital. If the recent reports are to be believed, Balayya is keen on setting up Basavatharakam Cancer Hospital in Amaravati to ensure easy access to people of all the regions.
However, Allotment of land to Basavatharakam Cancer Hospital wasn't even discussed in AP Cabinet meeting held on Monday. AP CM promised to offer land to the hospital on few occasions in the past. But, No measures have been taken till date and 2-and-a-half years passed already.
So far, AP Government allotted 200 acre to Vellore Institute of Technology, 150 acres to Indo-UK Hospital, 50 acres to National Institute of Design, 25 acres each to AP Human Resource Development & TTD Temple. Govt kept few more proposals including land allotments to NRM University, BRS Medicity, Brahmakumaris Society, AP Non Resident Telugu Society, Basavatharakam Cancer Hospital, Geetam University, Brahmakumaris Society under pending.
