Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy has been facing a tough time with the YS Vivekananda case as the CBI is after him for some time. He was grilled by the central agency a few times and his father was already picked. Amid the ongoing developments, he knocked on the doors of the Telangana High Court seeking anticipatory bail.
Now the MP faced a big relief as the Court granted interim protection for him in the case. The High Court told the CBI to not arrest him till the 25th of this month. The court will give its verdict on the anticipatory bail on April 25. In the interim orders, the Court issued directives to the CBI.
However, the CBI might go for an appeal as the agency earlier informed the court that it wants to arrest the MP to question him in connection with the case. We have to wait and see what the CBI will do in the case next.
The High Court gave the orders after hearing the arguments of both sides. Lawyers representing the MP told the court that there is no concrete evidence against him except for the statement given by Dastagiri.
But the High Court gave orders to CBI that the agency cannot arrest him till the 25th of this month. The Kadapa MP was directed to appear before the officers daily till the 25th and also said that audio and video should be recorded while Avinash Reddy records his statement.
