Biggest Drug Racket Worth Rs 1,000 Crore Busted

Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) and customs department successfully busted an international drug racket in the financial capital Mumbai and seized more than 190 kilograms of heroin.

According to some media reports, the racket was busted at the Nhava Sheva port located in the Navi Mumbai area and the worth of the heroin seized is expected to be around Rs 1,000 crore.

It has been widely reported after receiving a tip-off about the drugs, the  Directorate of Revenue Intelligence sleuths rushed to the Nhava Sheva port and seized the drug consignment.

Some media reports claim that the drugs were imported from Afghanistan and a consignment of liquorice plant  Mulethi arrived at Nhava Sheva port and they disguised heroin inside the pipes of the consignment.

So far two people were arrested in connection with this racket and reportedly the person who ordered the consignment is also missing and hunt for the person has started. This is the biggest consignment seized so far.

A case was booked on the arrested duo under the  Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and the investigation, in this case, is underway.
