The BJP, it appears, is determined to seize the initiative in Telangana. It appears to be adopting a Double C strategy. The party is focusing on corruption and communalism. The arrest of party state chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar and its Goshamahal MLA Thakur Raja Singh shows that the party is upping its anti on these two issues.
The party appears quite confident that it can put the ruling TRS in a spot of bother on both the issues. Its leaders are now going ballistic on recent revelations which claimed that KCR's daughter and MLC Kavitha was a willing partner in the Delhi liquor scam.
On Monday, BJP workers protested in front of Kavitha's residence in Khairatabad and caused quite a commotion. The police arrested the protesters and reportedly even abused them. Protesting these arrests, BJP state chief Bandi Sanjay, who is now on a pada yatra, staged a dharna in Janagaon. Several party workers expressed solidarity and joined the protests. The police descended in large numbers and took Sanjay into custody.
In another development, the police arrested Goshamahal MLA Raja Singh. Raja Singh was arrested in connection with some comments that he made against a particular religion. Several cases were booked against him at the police stations under the limits of the Old City. While Sanjay is focusing on the corruption issue, Raja Singh is targeting the communalism of the MIM, which is considered quite close to the ruling TRS. Let's wait and watch how things unfold in the days to come.
