BJP Rajya Sabha raises the issue of attacks on Hindu Temple in AP

The saffron party Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) which often bats for the Hindutva ideology has raised the issue of the series of attacks on Hindu temples in Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Parliament.

Businessman psephologist and BJP leader G. V. L. Narasimha Rao, who represents the state of Uttar Pradesh has raised the much-talked-about issue in the house on Wednesday.

Addressing the house, the MP has claimed that nearly 140 temples were attacked in Andhra Pradesh and alleged that the state government is not taking appropriate measures in this regard.

Adding further, the MP said the attacks on Hindu temples have increased in the past one and half years. He urged the state government to trace the culprits and take strong action against them.

He has strongly slammed the incident of Antarvedi incident, where the 60-year-old chariot at the Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple made of teak wood was gutted in a fire.The MP has also raised the issue of Vandalism of a 400-yea-old idol of Lord Rama at the Ramateertham temple in Vizianagaram.

The BJP raising the issue in the Rajya Sabha ahead of the upcoming Tirupati by-elections has raised a lot of speculations. The experts believe that they did this to boost the party mileage for the polls.
