The positive cases of the novel coronavirus in Maharashtra have reached 5,500 which makes it the worst hit state due to the novel coronavirus. Following this, the Municipal schools in the state will be used as the quarantine centers for COVID 19 patients.
As a result, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials have decided to use 1,200 schools that are under the control of the corporation to meet the needs of the treatment.
This latest development from the Maratha land came after a Central government team revied the facilities in Mumbai and made some suggestions. Other than using schools more facilities were also being arranged by the government.
The BMC went on to say that, NESCO has the facilities of 1,200 beds and the MMRDA exhibition ground in the Bandra Kurla Complex(BKC) is also being considered by the authorities as the complex can house 3,000 beds if proper facilities were made accordingly.
