Botsa showed that seniors are after all seniors

Senior minister and YSRCP biggie Botsa Satyanarayana has surprised many with his upright behaviour during the swearing in of the new ministers. While most of the newly inducted ministers touched the feet of YS jagan Mohan Reddy despite they being older, Botsa just shook hands and patted YS Jagan on the back.

Similarly, while everyone greeted Jagan first and then Governor Biswa Bhushan Harichandan, Botsa followed the convention of greeting the constitutional head first and later greeted YS Jagan. In fact, it was Jagan who first greeted Botsa. Thus, Botsa clearly showed his independent streak and the authority of a senior during the swearing in ceremony at the AP secretariat.

There were many doubts as to whether Botsa would be continued as the minister in the reshuffle. There was a talk that he would be sent to the Rajya sabha. However, Jagan decided to have some seniors in the cabinet and felt that a revolt by Botsa could affect the fortunes of the party in Vizianagaram district. Thus, Botsa was retained.

However, despite his seniority, Botsa fumbled while signing on the register after swearing in. He tried to sign with his pen.  But the officials softly dissuaded him and asked him to use the official pen that every newly sworn in minister was using to sign. Botsa did it with an impish smile.
