Can Congress Counter Operation Akarsh of BJP and TRS?

Update: 2022-08-16 06:39 GMT
The political equations in Munugode changed at once with Raj Gopal Reddy shifting his loyalties to Bharatiya Janata Party from the grand old Congress party. His resignation as the legislator created a path for the by-poll in the region. Needless to say, the political heat has changed at once with the forthcoming by-election.

The three parties in the state Telangana Rashtra Samithi, Bharatiya Janata Party, and Congress are trying their best in getting an upper hand. BJP and ruling TRS are reportedly inviting leaders from Congress to join the party.

Reports say that Congress has a strong cadre in Munugode and both parties are aiming to take the support to their side and for that, they are offering big gifts to the lower cadre leaders if they join the party. As the ex-MLA joined the saffron party, a few lower cadre leaders reportedly aiming to take Raj Gopal Reddy's route.

Seeing the aggressive nature of the saffron party, the ruling party TRS also started Operation Akarsh to take as many leaders from Congress as possible to increase the winning chances. Both parties are reportedly not leaving any stone unturned to invite the leaders from the grand old Congress.

The grand old Congress which suffered a big shock with senior leader Raj Gopal Reddy leaving the party had swung into action and started taking measures to see that the Congress leaders stay with the party. To retain the Congress leaders, the Telangana wing of Congress reportedly gave the responsibility to a key leader.

When the Congress party has taken the by-election seriously to give a strong message that the party is not in a weak position, internal issues once again popped up. Raj Gopal Reddy's brother Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said that he would not participate in the campaign for the Munugode by-election. It is also said that a few other leaders are also in plans to leave the party.

As if the issues are not enough, TRS and BJP are trying their best in attracting leaders through Operation Akarsh. The current development is giving sleepless nights to the grand old party. We have to wait and see if Congress can retain its leaders and counter Operation Akarsh.
