Minister Botsa Satyanarayana hinted about the possibility of shifting the AP Capital from Amaravti citing the floods threat. There were even speculations of YCP Government considering setting up four capitals to decentralize the power and to do equal justice to all the regions.
TDP didn't approve the proposal of shifting the capital but it refrained from launching any major agitations so far. In contrast, BJP is making a hue & cry over the proposal. Kanna Lakshminarayana hasn't only held meeting with the Capital Farmers but also demanded CM Jagan to withdraw the proposal. He sought a clarification from the Chief Minister to clear all the doubts over the capital issue.
Sujana Chowdary and TG Venkatesh issued statements disapproving it even before State Government made any official statement. They didn't oppose decentralization of power but stressed the need to develop Amaravati as the best capital city.
Actually, TDP Leaders should be aggressive at this stage. Much to everyone's surprise, BJP is ahead of rest of the Opposition Parties. Does the Saffron Party sees the capital issue as an opportunity to strengthen its base in AP?
