New Covid-19 Strain Fear: Centre Suspends International Flight Operations Till Jan 31

Given the emergence of the new strain of the novel Coronavirus, the union government has earlier decided to suspend the flight service through and fro to the United Kingdom as a precautionary measure.

Now with the rise of the infections related to the new strain of the pandemic, the union government responded quickly and decided to suspend the international flight operations in the country till 31 January.

The civil aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) issued orders stating that all the international flight services will be suspended till the 31st of January, barring the international air cargo operations and flights.

On the other hand, on a case-to-case basis, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) might give a nod to the International flight operations that too on selected routes.

The new move from the centre came after 20 infections related to the Britain strain of the virus were detected in India who recently returned from the United Kingdom.
