Centre urges everyone to not take Covid-19 for granted stressing Maharashtra situation
The ongoing Coronavirus pandemic continues to create fear in Maharashtra as the state has been maintaining a spike in the daily toll of fresh infections. To curb the infections, the state government imposed a lockdown in a few regions.
The union government has reacted to the troublesome situation in Maharashtra with the pandemic outbreak. The Centre urged everyone to not take the novel Coronavirus for granted.
Talking about the situation, NITI Aayog member Dr. VK Paul said, the Central government is worried about the pandemic situation in the state and appealed to everyone to not take Covid-19 for granted if they want to see India Covid-free.
Addressing a press conference, Mr.Paul said, we should follow the Covid-19 appropriate behaviour like wearing a mask and maintaining physical distance outdoors to see that India remains pandemic free.
The NITI Aayog Member said Maharashtra alone has eight cities out of the 10 cities that register the highest number of pandemic infections. Pune, Nagpur, Thane, Mumbai, Amravati, Jalgaon, Nashik, and Aurangabad are the worst affected cities.
Looking at the fresh Coronavirus infections, Maharashtra added not less than 13,659 daily coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours. The total count of the cases in the state rose to 22,52,057.
