The Naxal movement is not that severe now compared to others. Though the Naxal activities have been rooted out in almost every state, we can see the presence of Naxals in states like Chhattisgarh. The face-offs between the cops and Naxals are also high there.

Now around 10 Policemen were believed to have been killed in a Naxal attack in Bastar. A total of 11 people died in the attack and one person among them is a driver. The Naxal attack took place on Wednesday afternoon. The Naxal attack had sent shocking waves.

As per the media reports, the District Reserve Guard (DRG) members went to an anti-Maoist operation in the region. While they were on their way the attack happened and the cops were killed. Naxals are believed to have used the improvised explosive device (IED) attack to kill the cops.

Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel condemned the attack and said that Naxals will not be spared and they have to pay a price for this. Talking about the cops, he said that it is sad news to hear about and they still respect them.

"The news of the martyrdom of our 10 DRG jawans and a driver due to an IED blast on the DRG force which had arrived for an anti-Naxal operation on the information of the presence of Maoist cadres under Aranpur police station area of Dantewada is very sad. The people of the state pay our respects to them. We all share in the grief of their families. May their souls rest in peace," the CM said on Twitter in Hindi.

Chhattisgarh has been a strong zone for Naxals. Though the movement of the Naxals was restricted in other states, the Naxals are yet to be brought under control. Having a thick forest area and Chhattisgarh sharing borders with a few states makes the operation to nab Naxals become tough.
