It is known that Andhra Pradesh government employees are not happy with the delay in the Pay Revision Commission (PRC) issue and they have been protesting demanding the government to address the issue at the earliest. After a long wait, they were given an appointment to meet the Chief Minister.

Their hopes of making the Chief Minister understand their issues went for a toss with the response they got from Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy during the meeting. The employees were dumbstruck by the unexpected response from the other end.

Media reports say that CM Jagan urged the employees to not have high expectations of the PRC and asked them to have a practical approach to the issue. Having said that, Jagan assured them that he will do his best to see what he can do.

It is also said that Jagan drew a clear picture in the minds of the employees during the meeting and made them understand who the revenues of the state are seeing a dip since the past few months. The Chief Minister used the meeting to categorically deny the demands of the employees.

As if the shock was enough for the employees, Jagan appealed to the employees and asked them to not compare things with the neighboring state Telangana which is doing well in the per capita income (PCI).

However, the Andhra Pradesh government announced the PRC with a fitment of 23.29 percent for the employees while the retirement age for the employees is increased to 62 from the existing age of 60.
