Is the Congress Party using the NYAY promise to collect the data of BPL voters across the country? It appears so. Across the country, the Congress is distributing what it calls application forms for NYAY scheme, which envisions giving Rs 72000 per year to the Below Poverty Line voters. The BPL voters are asked to fill the forms furnishing details of their Aadhar, Pan numbers, bank account details etc. These details are collected by the Congress workers.
Reports say that such forms are being collected from tribal areas of Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh in a big way. The 'so-called' application forms have the photo of Rahul Gandhi and the hand symbol of the Congress Party. This data could be used for the future elections and the Congress can work on these BPL voters in a targeted manner.
Sources in the Congress say that senior leaders like Sachin Pilot, Kamal Nath and even Rahul Gandhi are aware of the NYAY application forms. The party's IT cell has devised this plan, sources said. So, it is clear that the Congress is looking at future, not the present.
