Cops Close Down Corona Infection Epicentre In Delhi

If there is one centre from where the Corona pandemic is spreading, it is the Markaz Masjid in New Dehi’s Nizamuddin. Markaz Masjid is the headquarters of the global Islamic radical organisation, the Tableegh-e-Jamaat. The Tableegh holds large gatherings called Ijtemas. The recent Ijtema held in the mosque is said to be the epicentre of the spread of Corona virus in the country. Scores of those who attended these Tableeghs got infected. Most of the deaths are from among those who attended these meets.

Now, in a latest move, the Delhi Government has seized the Markaz Jasjid and have booked cases on the leaders of the congregation. Over 280 persons from Indonesia, Thailand, Nepal, Malaysia and Saudi Arabia have attended these meetings. With several of them already infected with Corona virus, they turned into carriers and caused the virus to spread. The Tableegh held fro March 13 to March 19 is now considered to be the hug of Corona transmission. One person from Kashmir and six from Telangana have died due to Corona and they have all attended the Ijtema.

Now the police have identified and isolated 1200 persons who attended this meet. Of them, 24 were found to be showing Corona symptoms.  The government sources say that more people could become Corona positive in the days to come.
