The Health officers have confirmed a positive case of the novel coronavirus in Nellore and the patient has been given treatment who was kept in a special isolation ward at the town.
Authorities added that seven more people who were expected for showing positive signs of COVID-19 were sent for medical examinations and their reports were awaited.
Going into detail, a youth who returned to India recently from Italy has tested positive in the preliminary test that was conducted at the virology lab at the Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Science (SVIMS) in Tirupathi.
Collector MV Seshagiri Babu said that they are waiting for the reports of tests from the virology lab at Pune. It has been reported that Pune reports also stated that he tested positive for the virus.
Following this, the concerned officials have requested the public to follow the safety measures like wearing medical masks and not visiting any malls as there is a chance of the spread of the virus.
