India witnessed the highest surge of the positive cases of the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours as more than 5,000 cases were reported in the country which takes the COVID-19 cases to 96,169.
If the positive cases continue to rise in the same phase, within no time the positive cases in India will surpass the one lakh-mark. Earlier India surpassed China in terms of positive cases of COVID-19.

Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, and Delhi also witnessed a rise in the fresh cases of the novel Coronavirus in the state which in turn resulted in the massive rise of the cases. Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, and Delhi turned out as the next worst-hit states in the country followed by Maharashtra with 11,379, 11,224, and 10,054 cases respectively.
