Mahendra Singh Dhoni took everyone by surprise and announced his retirement through an Instagram post on Saturday evening The post took social media like a storm.

Interestingly, no one had a clue about this. The 39-year-old wicket-keeper batsman came months ahead of the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League(IPL).

"Thanks a lot for your love and support throughout. from 1929hrs consider me as retired," MS Dhoni"s Instagram post read.
