Centre's Shock: Current Charges To Depend On Day and Night?

Update: 2023-06-24 11:24 GMT
Modi Mark shock is getting ready. The time has arrived for the people in the country to get ready for this. Every day we're experiencing the wrath of GST impact. He cme to power saying that petrol will become Rs 50 per litre if he becomes PM. But it went pst top Rs 100 mrk and the travel charges also increased massively. The center-backed schemes were cut short and it is doing very less in facing the burden.

On top of this, another big shock is getting ready. It made heavy changes to the electricity charges guidelines. Though it appears that the changes will give a positive outcome, we can understand the impact they can leave by going deeper into this. The common man has to face the impact of this. As of now, the electricity charged will be the same no matter when we consume it. But the new changes say that current charges will be less during the day and high during the night.

Many might think the changes are good. But there is a catch here. We should not forget that electricity is consumed during the night in the household compared to the day. The fewer charges during the day will be covered by charging more at night. End of the day, consumers will face impact.

As per the new procedure, 20 percent additional charges will be imposed if the electricity demand is high at night. At the same time, fewer charges will be charged during the day. It is said that under the Time of Day (ToD) Tariff system, consumers using electricity during the day will get 20 percent relief. Surprisingly, Power and renewable energy minister R K Singh said that the electricity charges will be 10-20 percent of current charges when used during the night.

The new tariff system will come into effect from April 1st next year. However, the system will be implemented for commercial and industrial establishments that use 1O Kilo watt or more electricity. However, agricultural consumers were exempted from this. Talking about common people, the new condition will come into effect from April 1, 2025. Many say that the system will not come into effect if Narendra Modi loses the 2024 elections. We have to not forget that electricity consumption will be high during the night as people won't get to stay in the house during the day due to work and other purposes.
