Jayalalithaa's Nephew Deepak Jayakumar stakes claim to his aunt's Poes Garden residence and her other properties. He is also willing to pay the Rs 100 crore fine imposed by Supreme Court in connection with Jaya's illegal assets case by selling some of the properties. 'Only Me and My Sister Deepa can stake claim of our aunt's properties, no body else,' told Deepak, who performed the last rites of Jayalalithaa on December 6th, 2016.
Deepak says he approves the elevation of Sasikala Natarajan, whom he treats as mother, as AIADMK General Secretary. At the same time, He is against the appointment of Sasikala's nephew TTV Dinakaran as Deputy General Secretary and S Venkatesh for another plum post. Deepak believes this family rule would eventually split AIADMK into two and helps DMK form the Government. He suspects Dinakaran and Venkatesh might have forced Sasikala to handover party to them.
Interestingly, Deepak says he respects O Panneerselvam who is a good chief minister and good administrator. He is also supportive of his Sister Deepa who entered politics and declare she have the right to claim any post in AIADMK.
Yet again, Deepak maintained politics isn't his cup of tea and he would stay away from it.
