They have been traditional rivals for years. They fought pitched electoral battles standing on both sides of the political divide. But, today, these arch foes are in the same party. They share the same stage and work for the same party. But, their rivalry, it appears, shows no signs of abating.
That former YSRCP MLA Amanchi Krishna Mohan and former minister Karanam Balaram are sworn enemies is public knowledge in Chirala. Amanchi was in the YSRCP, while Karanam was in the TDP. In 2019 elections, Karanam won and Amanchi lost. But, soon after this, Karanam switched sides and has unofficially joined the YSRCP. He ensured that his son Karanam Venkatesh joins the YSRCP in the presence of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Despite both being in the same party, Karanam-Amanchi clash refuses to die down. They are trading barbs and are attacking one another. Recently, Venkatesh made statements threatening Amanchi and said that he would not allow goondaism in Chirala. Not to be outdone, Amanchi said that those who do not have courage to name him were trying to corner him and said their designs would be defeated.
The sooner the party leadership takes the issue into its hands, the better for the party in Chirala. Will the leadership focus on this issue?
