Did Vizag Saw Tense Scenes At midnight?

The fight between two groups for an upper hand over a costly land in Vizag resulted in tense scenes. The shocking scenes lasted till midnight on Sunday in the land. On top of this, the Police are said to have remained silent despite so much happening.

All these factors resulted in the locals and people living near the land fearing what would happen. Let us jump into the details of what had happened and what is the area which saw the unexpected scenes.

The disputed land is located in the 98-ward shipyard layout in Vizag. One side set up cement bars there and a few youths divided themselves into teams and removed the bars. They also damaged the current lights and the generator. The tense situation lasted from Sunday night to midnight and the cops did not take any action. There are a few allegations that the cops did not take any action.

The same land saw tense situations on May 31st as well. A few people created a sensation by claiming themselves as followers of Minister Amarnath and MLA Adeep Raj on the 31st at midnight. They are said to have escaped from the place after seeing the police who came there as part of their routine rounds. The two sides reached the disputed land on Sunday along with their followers.

One side spent time in the disputed land from morning to evening and set up a tent there. When they tried to do work there with the help of a Poclain, the other side fought with them.

This led to an argument between the two sides. Around 4 PM, members from one side reached the place and stopped the others. On the other hand, the other side reached the spot and removed the bars, and burnt the generator.

Many say that given the tense situation, there is a necessity of setting up a police picket in the disputed land till the issue gets sorted out in court. However, the Police have a different version. Pendurthi CI Apparao said that they did not receive any complaints as of now and they will take the required actions if they receive any complaints.
