In the wake of tremors across Northeast India recently, Disaster Management Experts warned there is every possibility of earthquakes measuring over 8.0 magnitude on the Ritcher Scale to hit the region. They even say a quake of such a magnitude would destroy Himalayas completely.
After the devastating Nepal earthquake, The National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) made it clear there is every chance of a quake measuring high magnitude hitting the Northern India, especially the Himalayan mountain region. The earthquakes in Nepal and Manipur have re-ruptured the plates that already developed cracks during previous quakes.
So, All the states which fall under Seismic Zone V and New Delhi which is in the Seismic Zone IV are at high risk at present. What's more worrying is that fact that it results in huge number of casualties if such a high magnitude quake hits India. Stay Positive & Hope The Future is only bright!!
