Ex-Employee Sues Wipro for £1million Compensation

IT Giant Wipro is reportedly landed in troubles. A former employee of India's third largest IT services firm has sued the company and demands a compensation of around £1 million. She accused the company of sex discrimination, unequal pay, harassment and unfair dismissal.

Shreya Ukil, 39 who worked in the UK, has sued the company and he filed case at the central London employment tribunal. In her complaint the employee alleged that she was manipulated into having an affair with former senior VP and global BPO head Manoj Punja, the former head of Wipro BPO who resigned last year.

Ukil who worked as a sales and market development manager at Wipro, said she was treated like dirty goods after ending the affair. Ukil also said she was paid far less than her male colleagues and said that other women too had left the company because of similar experiences.
