File Counter On Balayya's Money Distribution: HC

Update: 2019-01-26 06:17 GMT
High Court ordered Election Commission to file a counter on Nandamuri Balakrishna publicly distributing money to the voters during Nandlal By-Elections. Next hearing of the case will be happening after three weeks.

K Siva Kumar moved a petition in the High Court seeking directions to the Election Commission to file case against the Hindupur MLA for bribing the voters. Petitioner's Counsel Y Nagireddy informed the High Court that Balakrishna tried to influence the voters during Nandyal By-Election by distributing money during the road show. He complained against the Election Commission Officials for not filing the case inspite of submitting the evidence.

Election Commission's Counsel argued: 'What's being done by Balakrishna won't come under Public Representative Act and the case has to be filed as per Indian Penal Code'.

Balakrishna will be under trouble if the charges are proven. There is a high possibility of such a development as the TDP MLA was caught on camera distributing money during the road show.
