Karnataka's capital city Bengaluru, which is also called the Silicon Valley of India with the big IT sector and offices is dealing with a big crisis with the heavy floods. The rainwater triggered a small size flood in the city and people are going through a tough time with this.
People living in low-lying areas are suffering big time with power cuts and lack of drinking water. There is no scope for the floodwater to go out and they cannot even step out to get the required groceries. On top of this, power was cut in a few areas as a safety measure.
Not just the low-lying areas, people living near the Outer Ring Road are also suffering big time as water is logging on roads. The commuters are unable to travel on roads and a few vehicles were washed away.
In an unfortunate event, a woman reportedly lost her life after she was electrocuted. After the victim touched an electric pole on the waterlogged road, she lost her life. While towing her vehicle, she caught the pole and suffered an electric shock.
The IT area is going through another big issue. The area is filled with water and employees are unable to reach the IT firms. The IT officials reportedly said they lost hundreds of crores as employees could not reach the office on time. The Karnataka government announced funds to deal with the flood situation.
