Former Indian Player Says Virat Kohli Should Take Accountability And Quit As RCB Captain
The Play bold army Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) led by Virat Kohli was eliminated from the ongoing Indian Premier League(IPL) after losing to Sunrisers Hyderabad(SRH).
Former Indian batsman Gautam Gambhir has come down severely on Virat Kohli's captaincy for the franchise's performance and said Virat Kohli should quit from the skipper position.
Talking to a leading Sports channel Gautam Gambhir opined that it's been eight years for the RCB playing the tournament for the past eight years, but the franchise didn't win the cup.
However, the former Indian player maintained that he is not against Virat Kohli but he should take accountability be it the wins registered by the team or the poor run form of the team.
Goutam Gambhir has quoted the example of R. Ashwin who was removed from the captaincy by Kings XI Punjab after he failed to guide the team in winning the IPL trophy.
Adding further, Gautam said the likes of Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni are leading their team respectively as their teams have won the cups under their captainship. Chennai won 3 IPL trophies, while MI won four titles.
