Update: 2022-09-16 11:11 GMT
When we talk about the richest Indians one name flashes in everyone's mind and it is Mukesh Ambani. He used to be one of the richest people in Asia. But that is the past. Of late, we are hearing more and more about Gujarat-based Business tycoon Gautam Adani. His fortune kept on growing exponentially over the past two years.

Recently, Gautam Adani emerged as the third richest person on the earth. Now the Gujarat business tycoon surprised the whole world by emerging as the second world's richest person only next to Elon Musk. After his wealth increased by a few Billion dollars, he overturned Jeff Bezos and Bernard Arnault and came second on the list.

The Forbes' Real-Time Billionaires List, which tracks the wealth of the richest persons in the world said that Gautam Adani's wealth rose to $155.7 billion after his fortune saw an increase of 5.5 billion dollars.

Talking about the list of richest people, Elon Musk is in the top position, followed by Gautam Adani, Bernard Arnault, and Jeff Bezos. Mukesh Ambani is in eighth place. While Gautam Adani is increasing his wealth massively, Mukesh Ambani is seeing a downfall in his wealth and position on the list of richest people.

Gautam Adani's growth can be seen before and after the emergence of Covid. When Covid hit us, his wealth started seeing growth. His business empire is spread across various fields as ports to airports to whatnot. He owns power plants and recently it was said that Gautam Adani's firm bought around 27 percent of stakes in NDTV, one of the big news channels in India.

Though Gautam Adani is getting richer and richer, there is severe criticism that the Indian government might be helping the business tycoon as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Gautam Adani hail from the same state. Earlier Mukesh Ambani faced criticism and now it is the turn of Adani.

The opposition parties never miss an opportunity to say that the Indian government is helping Gautam Adani and the parties, even say that, Bharatiya Janata Party is concerned about the corporates more than the public.
