Patel agitation leader Hardik Patel sent to judicial custody for 14 days by a Surat district court. The order came late on Friday evening.
Additional city civil judge H A Pandya pronounced the order and he quashed the petition filed by Ahmedabad and Surat police officials. Hardik and five of his associates are facing charges of sedition for waging war against government.

Few days before the case of sedition filed against Hardik for allegedly advising a youth to kill policemen. He had allegedly advised a local youth from his community to kill policemen rather than committing suicide.
One of the transcript of police reevaled that Hardik advised his community member Vipul Desai to kill a policemen. "If you have so much courage...then go and kill a couple of policemen. Patels never commit suicide," Hardik allegedly told .Hardik is currently in custody of Surat Police in another sedition case.
