An intense war of words has been going on between the leaders of two Telugu states. Leaders from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are targeting each other on various issues. We have seen how Telangana Finance Minister Harish Rao's comments created a tense situation between the two Telugu states.
Harish Rao cleared his comments on AP and said that he never spoke demeaning. Speaking at the Athmeeya Sammelanam of BRS, the firebrand leader said that he never wanted to make comments on Andhra Pradesh but his comments are taken out of proportion.
Talking about his comments, Harish Rao said that he just asked why the leaders in Andhra Pradesh are not fighting for the Vizag Steel plant and not stopping the privatisation. I did not comment on Ap people, but the leaders are coming after me, he said at the meeting.
Drawing a comparison between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Harish Rao said Telangana finished a project like Kaleshwaram to give water. Why not Andhra Pradesh finish the Polavaram project and do what the state is doing for the people?
On the other hand, Harish Rao asked why the leaders could not fight for the special status of Andhra Pradesh. He asked why the leaders who earlier spoke about the special status are not even able to raise their voices when the Centre is denying the status for AP.
However, it appears that Harish Rao is not ready to take forward the issue between the two Telugu states and cleared his comments. But the Cabinet Minister asked why the leaders failed to fight for the interests.
