Hazare to auction his SUV

Update: 2015-05-14 11:56 GMT
Social activist and anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare is all set to auction his vehicle in which he has campaigned extensively during his anti-corruption agitations. The old scorpio  used by Aanna Hazare during various agitations, including the Jan Lokpal movement, will be auctioned at his native village  Ralegan Siddhi.

According to aides of Anna  the real reason for auctioning the vehicle is Hazare’s health travails. Anna is using the vehicle for past eight years and he decided to change vehicle as he is suffering from backpain.

"He needs a new vehicle because he is suffering from back pain, and travelling in the eight-year-old SUV, a Mahindra Scorpio, is  aggravating it. We have yet to fix a base price. The trust will buy a new vehicle depending on the proceeds from the auction. We may probably go for an Innova" Hazare's aide said.

The vehicle is owned by   Swami Vivekanand Krutudnata Nidhi, a trust formed by Anna to govern  the funds received by him  by way of awards. The auction will take place at Hazare's Ralegan Siddhi village on May 17 at 11 am.
