Health Ministry Gave Its Nod To Use Remdesivir For Pandemic Patients

In the wake of the dreaded virus originated from the Wuhan Province in China spreading its deadly wings in India and the total infection surpassed 2 lakh-mark the Health Ministry came up with a piece of good news.

The Health Ministry gave its nod to use antiviral drug remdesivir to treat the pandemic patients that too in emergencies. Lav Agarwal, joint secretary in the health ministry confirmed the new development and issued a statement.

Remdesiver showed a positive impact on the pandemic patients during the clinical trials and many experts cite that the drug has all the credibility to become the potential vaccine.

Though permission was given to use the drug, only five doses should be given under the emergency circumstances. However, Gilead Sciences, Inc., an American biopharmaceutical company was given the voluntary license to produce the remdesivir drug in India.
