Breaking: Helicopter Onboard General Bipin Rawat,others crashed!

Tension gripped Tamil Nadu after the Indian Air Force (IAF)'s Mi-17V5 helicopter carrying 14 members including Chief of Defence Staff Gen Bipin Rawat reportedly crashed in Cooneer on Wednesday. After knowing the news, the rescue teams have rushed to the spot for the rescue operations.

The news agency ANI had disclosed the news and said that the 14 members in the army helicopter include six officials, Bipin Rawat, his family members, and the security commandos. In a tweet, the news agency shared the visuals and pictures from the spot where the helicopter crashed,

It has been widely reported that four of the passengers were reported dead while three people were rescued from the helicopter crash and were shifted to the nearby hospital for further treatment. More details on the list of deceased and injured people are awaited.

“Latest visuals from the spot (between Coimbatore and Sulur) where a military chopper crashed in Tamil Nadu. CDS Bipin Rawat, his staff and some family members were in the chopper," ANI tweeted.

The Indian Air Force had confirmed the sad incident with a tweet. Having acknowledged the helicopter crash, the IAF said, to know the reason behind the helicopter crash incident, an inquiry was ordered. "An IAF Mi-17V5 helicopter, with CDS Gen Bipin Rawat on board, met with an accident today near Coonoor, Tamil Nadu.An Inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the accident," the tweet reads.

As per the information, the helicopter which was scheduled to reach the defence facility in Wellington crashed in Nilgiris. It has been widely reported that the helicopter crashed minutes after starting its journey. Smoke filled the spot after the crash and the rescue teams had to sweat it out to carry out the rescue operations when the visibility was not clear.

Everyone is sending wishes to CDS Gen Bipin Rawat, his wife reacting to the issue. Hoping that they are doing well, people like Major Gaurav Arya (Retd), Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, and others are hoping for the safety of Defence Staff Chief General Bipin Rawat and others who were present in the army chopper.
