Police of Guntur town forcibly shifted Telugu actor Sivaji to hospital on Wednesday as his condition deteriorated on the fourth day of his indefinite hunger strike to demand special category status to the state.
Its known that Sivaji launched a hunger strike near the district collectorate protesting the delay in granting of special status to Andhra Pradesh. Sivaji, who is also a leader of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), went on hunger strike on May 3, Hundreds of people and social activists visited the hunger strike camp and joined hands with the actor. Team of doctors advised authorities to shift him to hospital in view of his deteriorating condition. After doctors advice Police cracked down on his hunger strike camp.
The actor's supporters resisted police attempts but the latter managed to shift him to an ambulance, which carried him to the hospital.However, Sivaji is pledged to continue his hunger strike in the hospital and refused to cooperate to any medical assistance.
