Mushrooms are very good for health as they contain potassium, vitamin B and vitamin D. However, most of the naturally occurring mushrooms are poisonous. There are many varieties in Mushrooms, but one variety is very rare with a high price tag.

Gucci mushroom, also known as Morel Mushrooms or Morchella Esculenta scientifically, provide a vital amount of antioxidants and help prevent some health problems, including heart disease and cancer.

These are a wild variety of mushrooms are rich in taste and musky flavour. These mushrooms cannot be grown commercially and instead they grow wild only in some regions like the Kangara Valley, Jammu and Kashmir, Manali and other parts of Himachal Pradesh after the snowfall period.

What may surprise you is the price at anything between Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 30,000 for a kilogram. They are prized for their spongy, honeycomb texture and unique flavour. Notably, they may or not grow in the same spot the next season and they are unpredictable as they may grow up anywhere.
