No Representation For Congress In Council?

Update: 2018-12-21 07:58 GMT
Congress Party which faced a huge defeat in the Telangana Assembly Polls 2019 received yet another setback. On Friday, Four Congress MLCs (Akula Lalitha, T Santhosh Kumar, MS Prabhakar, K Damodhar Reddy) submitted a letter to Council Chairman Swamy Goud confirming the merger of Congress Council with TRS.

Actually, Congress used to have altogether 7 MLCs in the Legislative Council. Komatireddy Ramagopal Reddy resigned as MLC after being elected as MLA in the recent elections. And now, Four other MLCs joined TRS. The strength of the National Party in the Council has fallen to 2. Only Shabbir Ali and Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy have been continuing as Congress MLCs but their term is going to end by March 2019. Which means, Congress Party is on the verge of having zero representation in the Telangana Legislative Council.

Shocked by the merger plans, Congress High Command alerted Shabbir Ali and Ponguleti. Both these MLCs complained to Council Chairman against the unethical practice.
